Hello I’m Rose!

I look at photography like Paintings viewing the image in layers and textures that convey so much… I would love to be a painter but I just love photography so much. I envision myself one day, when I’m older, with grandchildren running around in the fields of our farm while I paint to my heart’s desire….

I have been capturing the beauty and essence of Santa Cruz families for over a decade. With a career spanning 25 years, my journey began amidst the vibrant streets of Los Angeles.

My photography journey began in 2000, studying product and fashion photography in college in Los Angeles. I then spent eight years at Quixote Studios in Hollywood before working as a photo assistant to renowned photographers in Los Angeles and New York, traveling the world. It was a truly special time.

As a first assistant, I was deeply involved in the planning and execution of shoots, working alongside producers to coordinate every detail. I also handled lighting design, ensuring each shot had the perfect atmosphere and impact. This experience gave me invaluable insight into advertising, entertainment, and fashion shoots for major brands and publications.

Photography has been my passion since childhood—flipping through my dad’s many photo books of the great masters. As a teenager, I was deeply inspired by the gritty energy of Los Angeles—its vibrant streets, Hollywood’s punk and fashion scene, and the muses who shaped my creative vision.

I find profound joy in documenting families, individuals, and the precious bonds they share.

Now firmly rooted in the much chiller and breathtaking beauty of Santa Cruz, I find deep joy in documenting the stories of families, and individuals, and the precious bonds they share. Specializing in both on-location shoots and studio sessions, I strive to create images that resonate with warmth, authenticity, and a deep sense of connection.

As a parent myself, with two wonderful girls who inspire me every day, I now understand the importance of capturing life's most precious moments. Whether it's the tender embrace of a newborn, the laughter of a family gathered together, or the radiant glow and tender & fierce emotions of an expectant mother, I am passionate about immortalizing these fleeting yet unforgettable milestones.

My approach to photography is inspired by compassion, creativity, and a genuine love for creating with my families or brands that I capture.

Each session is a collaborative journey, where I work closely with my clients to understand their vision, preferences, and aspirations, ensuring that every photograph reflects your unique story and spirit.

Beyond the lens, I am involved in my local community, volunteering my time and expertise to support various charitable causes. I believe in the transformative power of photography and the human connection to inspire, uplift, and bring people together, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact through my work by creating with my community.
